How do I see everything I need to craft something in Valheim?
Pick the item and how many you want. The calculator adds up every ingredient, and with "break down crafted ingredients" on it also works out what the ingredients that are crafted themselves, like nails or bronze bars made at a station, take.
Does it count upgrades?
No. It counts the cost of making the item at quality 1; upgrading takes more materials, which each item page lists by level.
Where do the recipes come from?
From the game's own recipe list, so they follow the current version. Items you smelt or cook in a processor, like bronze or iron, count as raw materials here.
