Valheim 0.207.15
This public test build adds the Frost Caves, a new dungeon home to the fenrings, along with new enemies, gear and building pieces. It also brings full controller support, Steam Deck optimisation and a pause function for singleplayer. The build may be unstable and forces your worlds to regenerate their locations.
New content 7
- Frost Caves are a new dungeon and will only appear in areas you have not explored yet.
- Three new enemies appear: Ulv, Cultist and Bat.
- New crafting materials are Red jute, Fenring hair and Fenring claw.
- A new armour set, made up of the Fenris Coat, Fenris Leggings and Fenris Hood, gives an extra bonus when all three pieces are equipped together.
- Flesh Rippers are a new unarmed weapon.
- New build pieces are the Red jute carpet, Red jute curtain and Standing brazier.
- A new event called "You stirred the cauldron" has been added.
Changes and balancing 14
- Singleplayer now has a pause function.
- Controller support now covers every game feature, with a controller legend in the pause menu and settings, an alternative glyph style option, and context menus that always show controller buttons.
- Controller users can scroll the skills window, and can cancel crafting by pressing the button again, as with a mouse.
- When running in Steam big picture mode, controller text input lets you name things such as chat, characters, signs and pets.
- On Steam Deck, the game shows the Steam Deck controller layout and loads default settings made for the device.
- A new FPS limiter setting and an option to reduce GPU usage when the game is minimised are available, and menu FPS is capped to 60.
- Signs can now be built without a workbench, and the armour stand now supports atgeirs and shield styles.
- The split dialog now accepts numeric input, and chat can be closed with esc, the mouse or gamepad B.
- The building marker is more subtle and shows the rotation of the piece.
- A corpse run now gives a carry weight bonus to make up for the unequipped belt.
- You can craft stackable items with a full inventory as long as there are available stack slots.
- Nomap mode gets a vegvisr alternative, is now a server setting, has a max distance for shouting, uses random build and spawn rotation, and adds a 'noportals' command.
- Recipes for Jack-o-turnip and the Yule items are disabled.
- Console commands have been improved and expanded (see console 'help'), and resolution only shows refresh rate when forcing exclusive fullscreen.
Fixes 4
- Fixed some dungeon parts (the ends) not being fully deterministic.
- Fixed a bug where 'Take All' in a chest sometimes left stackable items behind when your inventory was full.
- Fixed some missing or misplaced gamepad tooltips.
- Various UI, settings and Steam Deck fixes were made.
Other 3
- This is a Public Test build, so it may be unstable, and the new content is not fully backwards compatible with the Default branch, so backing up your save files is advised.
- Your worlds will have their locations regenerated, which means slightly longer loading the first time you open them and a chance that some boss locations move slightly.
- Several community-translated languages have been improved.
