Valheim 0.213.4
Patch 0.213.4 adds a buildable hexagonal gate and a fishing hat. Ballistas can now be told what to shoot by using a trophy on them. The patch also rebalances Mistlands enemies and reworks fishing, and it fixes many bugs, including a lot of networking problems.
New content 3
- The Hexagonal gate is a new build piece, based on the gates seen at the Dvergr strongholds in the Mistlands.
- The Fishing hat is a new item, and it needs a super secret recipe.
- Players can use a trophy on a ballista to make it shoot only that target; without one it still fires at anything in range.
Changes and balancing 13
- Ballista ammo capacity goes up from 20 to 40.
- Seekers should circle in a more aggressive way again.
- Gjall spit attacks shoot 2 projectiles again, with a longer burst interval, more fire damage and less blunt damage, so they are more visible and somewhat easier to avoid.
- After the Queen is dead, Seekers, Broods and Ticks can spawn at night in the Meadows, Black Forest, Mountain and Plains biomes.
- The Mistlands boss now tries to flee if it cannot reach the player.
- Mobs inside Mistlands dungeons can respawn, and so can the Royal jelly piles there; hanging Royal Jelly piles now mark them in big dungeon rooms.
- Mist torches are no longer a primary target for enemies.
- Wolves can now eat Chicken meat.
- Eitr regen is no longer slowed by swimming or by being encumbered.
- Haldor sells Ymir Flesh once the Elder is dead, instead of after Bonemass.
- Some Dvergr pieces have adjusted health and resistances.
- Turnips can be put on item stands, and Yule items are now disabled.
- The entrance and exit trigger areas of Mistlands boss rooms and dungeons are smaller, so players can no longer enter or leave through walls or from the floor above.
Fixes 14
- Fish no longer despawn when far away, Ice Cave fish respawn correctly, Tetra can spawn at higher levels, Tuna spawn only in the Ocean biome, and higher-level fish jump only in the Ocean biome.
- Fishing now rewards more: higher tier fish give slightly more Raw fish, fish may drop extra materials when reeled in, and skill gain is slightly increased.
- Hooked fish now try to escape, which raises stamina use while pulling in, and pulling in costs less stamina when they are not struggling.
- Fishing bait is returned if you pull in without a fish or recast. Bait recipes now use basic fishing bait, and the recipes and Haldor's bait now give 20 instead of 40.
- Fixed a bug that let players craft infinite Raw fish.
- The Obliterator now converts Mistlands trophies, wood, arrows and bolts properly.
- Pickables such as JotunPuffs and Magecap no longer leave invisible dead objects in the world, and old ones are cleared on load to improve performance and shrink save files. Pickable DvergrStein no longer fall through objects.
- Periodic lag spikes are addressed by a new schedule for unloading unused resources, and unused locations and dungeon rooms were removed to lower RAM usage.
- Skeleton spawners work again when summoned friendly skeletons are nearby, and the troll trap and Dvergr stake wall no longer take rain damage.
- Hens lay eggs closer to their bodies and no longer change colour.
- Mistlands music no longer stops after using the "env Clear" dev command, and the Seeker flying sound no longer plays if it dies mid air.
- Visual and item fixes: blurry stars are fixed, carapace bolt pickup collider is corrected, marble column snap points now align with other pieces, and bolt descriptions base additional damage on Crossbow skill instead of Bow skill.
- The console command 'save' now also saves your local character file when playing on a multiplayer server.
- Many networking fixes: joining a full PlayFab server now says "Server full", PlayFab no longer signs in twice, two PlayFab soft locks are fixed, and matchmaking timers no longer pause when the game is paused.
Other 8
- The game handles multiplayer sessions much better when going offline or disconnecting, retrying lobby creation and relogging more often.
- Non-crossplay PlayFab servers are now supported, and Xbox users without the Crossplay privilege can only host and join non-crossplay servers.
- Server owners get a new parameter for running several dedicated servers on the same MAC address with unique PlayFab IDs.
- New messages appear when you try to start a server while not signed in correctly and when a server URL fails DNS lookup; privilege manager error handling and local server lists are also improved.
- A new accessibility option reduces lighting flashes from thunder, monster and player elemental effects, the Galdr table, the Obliterator and the Portal.
- Raven hints can now be toggled in settings, and the console command for it is removed.
- New console commands: catch (simulates catching a fish), printnetobj (lists nearby network objects by name) and cr (manually runs the unused-asset unloading routine and resets its timer).
- The "Manage Saves" menu is much less laggy, and localization is updated.
