The Bear is a non-boss creature of the forest monsters faction. It lives in the Black Forest and has 500 health. It spawns both by day and by night, alone each time, at any altitude up to 1000 m. Daytime Bears are level 1 to 2, while night Bears can be level 1 to 3.
Its strongest attacks are the bite, which does 55 damage to a body, and the claws and slam, which do 50 each. The three swipe attacks do 25 each. The bite reaches 4, the claws and swipes reach 5.5, and the slam, an area attack, reaches 2.5. It walks at 1.5 and runs at 7.
The Bear is weak to fire. It resists blunt, pierce and frost, and it is immune to chop, pickaxe and spirit damage.
When killed, it always drops 1 Bear Paw, 2 to 3 Bear Meat and 4 to 5 Bear Hide. It has a 10 percent chance to drop 1 Bear Trophy.

Damage is the base value before the creature's level and the difficulty setting change it. "To a body" leaves out chop and pickaxe damage, which only hurts trees, rocks and buildings.
