Black Forest Valheim 1.0.20

The Black Forest is a dense forest of pine and fir, darker and more dangerous than the Meadows. It is step 2 of 8 in the progression, coming after the Meadows and before the Swamp. Creatures here include Bear with 500 health, Deer with 10, Greydwarf with 40, Greydwarf Brute with 150, Greydwarf Shaman with 60, Skeleton with 40, Skeleton (meadows) with 30 and Troll with 600. Troll has the most health of these and Deer the least.

You pick Blueberries, Carrot Seeds, Mushroom and Thistle by hand, while Copper Ore and Tin Ore are mined from deposits. Materials from the biome unlock 9 weapons and shields, among them the Bronze Atgeir, Bronze Axe, Bronze Buckler, Bronze Mace, Bronze Spear, Bronze Sword, Butcher Knife and Copper Knife. They also unlock 11 pieces of armor, including the Bronze Helmet, Bronze Plate Leggings, Bronze Plate Tunic, Celebratory Cap, Headdress of the Bear, Loincloth of the Bear, Patterns of the Bear and Troll Hide Cape. One food item, Queen's Jam, is unlocked as well.

The biome's boss is The Elder, who has 2500 health. You summon it with 3 Ancient Seeds on the altar, and it drops The Elder Trophy and the Swamp Key. Places you can find in the Black Forest are Burial chambers, Greydwarf camp, Haldor the trader, Hildir's crypt, Rock clearing, Runestone black forest, Runestone greydwarfs, Ship wreck, The Elder's altar and Troll cave.
