Valheim 0.209.5

This public test build is mainly about fixing a Steam Cloud bug that made players lose progress when several accounts shared one PC. Saves are now stored in different places and should move over automatically. The patch also adds festive Midsummer content and a few fixes. Because it is a test build it may be unstable, so back up your saves first.

New content 3

  • The Maypole can now be built from the building menu.
  • Flower crowns have been added.
  • Banners come in four new colours: orange, white, yellow and purple.

Changes and balancing 6

  • Cloud save files are now stored in Steam/[YourIDNumber]/892970 instead of AppData.
  • Local files go into "worlds_local" and "characters_local" under AppData and are no longer synced to the cloud, which avoids sync conflicts and data loss with multiple accounts on one machine and with dedicated servers.
  • Files still in the old structure are moved to the Steam Cloud or the new local folder when used, and a backup is kept.
  • Maximum Cloud storage for Valheim has increased greatly.
  • The console command exclusivefullscreen can now be toggled.
  • Mods can now set an isModded flag so players and support can tell the game is modded.

Fixes 6

  • The Steam Cloud bug that caused lost progress when playing on multiple accounts on the same PC is fixed.
  • World save files can now be renamed and will still load correctly.
  • Large worlds of 300mb or bigger should now sync correctly.
  • Unity has been updated to version 2020.3.33, which should reduce crashes.
  • Tamed animals now follow the player into Haldor's forcefield.
  • Yagluth's hair has been tweaked so it no longer flies around in the air.
