Valheim 0.212.9
This public test build, which may be unstable, rebalances Mistlands armour, shields and staffs, and tweaks ballistae and several Mistlands enemies. It also adjusts fishing and comfort, fixes a range of animation, sound and networking issues, and shrinks the game's RAM use and download size.
Changes and balancing 13
- Mistlands armour and shield recipes have been rebalanced and their durability increased.
- Staffs have rebalanced recipes and stats.
- Ballistae fire faster, play sound effects when shooting and when they lose sight of targets, and have tweaked targeting behaviour.
- Ballista ammo recipes are cheaper.
- The Mistlands Seeker event no longer triggers in Meadows, Swamps, Mountains or Ocean, no longer spawns Seeker Soldiers, and has a rebalanced number of Seekers and Broods.
- Seekers should now circle around a bit instead of staying on the player constantly, giving players some time to catch their breath.
- Seeker Soldier and Gjall spawn rates were lowered, as they used to spawn quite often, and are now much more similar to Troll spawns in Black Forest.
- Gjall now shoot 1 projectile at a time instead of 2.
- Hare running speed is slightly decreased.
- Comfort from different carpets no longer stacks.
- Tetra bait now uses the Fenring trophy instead of the Ulv trophy.
- Tuna now always takes ocean bait, since it lives in the ocean.
- Fish in mountain caves now respawn correctly, and a small additional lake was added.
Fixes 11
- Fixed a stutter when walking left with a hoe or hammer equipped.
- Fixed animation issues with the idle and block idle poses of dual knives.
- Fixed a lighting issue with fog in Black Forest.
- Fixed an error when viewing a character in the main menu that has a fish in its inventory.
- Fixed an issue that could cause the Mistlands boss to escape.
- Spawned skeletons now unsummon correctly after rejoining a network game.
- The find console command now shows absolute position instead of offset.
- Mating hens no longer sound like boars.
- The correct effects now show when placing the marble bench and table.
- Music now fades out correctly for dungeons and locations when continuous music is turned off, and some locations that had looping music now play it only once.
- Various networking changes aim to solve connectivity issues when using crossplay.
Other 1
- Sounds, music, animations and textures were optimised, saving around 485 Mb of RAM and cutting the download size of Valheim by approximately 420 Mb.
