Valheim 0.212.9
Patch 0.212.9 rebalances Mistlands armour, shields and staffs, and changes how Ballistae and several Mistlands enemies behave. It also adjusts fishing and comfort, fixes assorted animation, sound and crossplay problems, and optimises assets to cut RAM usage and download size.
Changes and balancing 13
- Mistlands armour and shield recipes have been rebalanced and their durability increased.
- Staffs have rebalanced recipes and stats.
- Ballistae fire faster, play sound effects when shooting and when they lose sight of targets, and have tweaked targeting behaviour.
- Ballista ammo recipes are cheaper.
- The Mistlands Seeker event no longer triggers in Meadows, Swamps, Mountains or Ocean, no longer spawns Seeker Soldiers, and has a rebalanced number of Seekers and Broods.
- Seekers should now circulate a bit instead of staying on the player constantly, giving players some time to catch their breath.
- Seeker Soldier and Gjall spawn rates have been lowered, as they were spawning quite frequently; they are now much more similar to Troll spawns in Black Forest.
- Gjall now shoot 1 projectile at a time instead of 2.
- Comfort from different carpets no longer stacks.
- Hare running speed is slightly decreased.
- Tetra bait now uses the Fenring trophy instead of the Ulv trophy.
- Fish in mountain caves now respawn correctly, and a small additional lake has been added.
- Tuna always takes ocean bait, since it lives in the ocean.

- Fixed a stutter when walking left with a hoe or hammer equipped.
- Fixed animation issues on dual knives idle and block idle.

- The find console command now shows absolute position rather than offset.
- Mating hens no longer sound like boars.
- The correct effects now show when placing the marble bench and table.
- Music now fades out correctly for dungeons and locations when continuous music is turned off, and some locations that had looping music now play it only once.
- Various networking changes address connectivity issues when using crossplay.
Other 1
- Sounds, music, animations and textures have been optimised, saving around 485 Mb of RAM and shrinking the Valheim download by approximately 420 Mb.
