Valheim 0.213.3

Patch 0.213.3 adds a buildable Hexagonal gate and a Fishing hat, and lets you pick what a ballista shoots by giving it a trophy. It rebalances several Mistlands enemies, reworks how fishing and bait behave, and fixes a long list of bugs, including many networking problems.

New content 2

  • The Hexagonal gate, the type seen at Dvergr strongholds in the Mistlands, is now a build piece.
  • A Fishing hat has been added; crafting it requires a secret recipe.

Changes and balancing 15

  • You can now use a trophy on a ballista to limit its targets to that creature, and its ammo capacity goes from 20 to 40.
  • Seekers should feel more aggressive when circling again.
  • Gjall spit attacks fire 2 projectiles again but with a longer burst interval, making them easier to see and avoid, and they now deal more fire damage and less blunt damage.
  • After the Queen is dead, Seekers, Broods and Ticks can spawn at night in the Meadows, Black Forest, Mountain and Plains biomes.
  • The Mistlands boss now tries to flee when it cannot reach the player.
  • Mobs inside Mistlands dungeons can respawn, and so can the Royal jelly piles there; hanging Royal Jelly piles in big dungeon rooms show where they are.
  • Mist torches are no longer a primary target for enemies.
  • Wolves can now eat Chicken meat.
  • The entrance box of the Mistlands boss room and the exit box of Mistlands dungeons are smaller, so you can no longer use them through walls or from the floor above.
  • Eitr regen is no longer affected by swimming or being encumbered.
  • Haldor now sells Ymir Flesh once the Elder is dead, instead of after Bonemass.
  • Some Dvergr pieces have adjusted health and resistances.
  • Fish no longer despawn when you are far away, and fish in Ice Caves now respawn correctly.
  • Higher tier fish give slightly more Raw fish and have a small chance of dropping extra materials when reeled in.
  • Fishing bait is returned if you pull in without a fish or recast; bait recipes now use basic fishing bait, and recipes and Haldor's bait give 20 instead of 40.

Fixes 15

  • Hooked fish now try to escape, wobbling and splashing, which makes pulling them in cost more stamina; while they are not escaping, pulling costs less stamina. Fishing skill gain is slightly higher.
  • Tetra can now spawn at higher levels, Tuna only spawn in the Ocean biome, and higher-level fish only jump in the Ocean biome.
  • The Obliterator now converts Mistlands trophies, wood, arrows and bolts properly.
  • Fixed a bug that let players craft an infinite amount of Raw fish.
  • Mistlands music no longer stops if the "env Clear" dev command is used there, and Seeker flying sound no longer plays if one dies mid-air.
  • Carapace bolts have a corrected pickup collider, and bolt descriptions now base additional damage on Crossbow skill instead of Bow skill.
  • Stars in the sky are no longer blurry.
  • The console command 'save' now also saves your local character file on a multiplayer server.
  • Unused locations and dungeon rooms were cleaned up to lower RAM usage.
  • Periodic lag spikes were addressed: resource unloading now runs while sleeping or pausing AFK for 5 seconds if it hasn't run in 20 minutes, when "cr" is called from the console, or otherwise every 60 minutes.
  • JotunPuffs, Magecap and other pickables no longer leave invisible dead objects behind when picked, and old ones are cleared on load to improve performance and shrink save files.
  • Pickable DvergrStein no longer falls through objects.
  • Hens lay eggs closer to their bodies.
  • Skeleton spawners can spawn skeletons again even when summoned friendly skeletons are nearby.
  • Troll traps and Dvergr stake walls no longer take rain damage, and Marble column build pieces have corrected snap points.

Other 10

  • Joining a full PlayFab server now shows "Server full" instead of "Fail to connect", and a bug that signed PlayFab in twice is fixed.
  • The game handles going offline or disconnecting much better, retrying lobby creation and relogging more often, and a pop-up now appears if you try to start a server while not signed in properly.
  • Non-crossplay PlayFab servers are now supported, and Xbox users without the Crossplay privilege can only host and join non-crossplay servers.
  • A new server parameter lets owners run several dedicated servers on the same MAC address and still get unique PlayFab IDs.
  • A new "DNS Lookup failed" message appears when a URL server cannot be added to the server list, and local server lists perform and behave better.
  • Privilege manager error handling is improved, 2 PlayFab soft locks are fixed, and matchmaking timers no longer pause when the game is paused.
  • A new accessibility option reduces lighting flashes from thunder, monster and player elemental effects, the Galdr table, the Obliterator and the Portal.
  • Raven hints can now be toggled in settings, and the console command for it is removed.
  • New console commands: catch (simulates catching a fish), printnetobj (lists network objects around you by name) and cr (manually runs the unused-asset unload and resets its timer).
  • The Manage Saves menu is much less laggy, and localization is updated.
