Valheim 0.214.300
This public test build is a hotfix patch that repairs left-handed mouse use, manual saving, sign text and various UI and text problems. It adds a Swap Triggers control option and a Balanced Mode graphics setting on Xbox. The developers are also working on Xbox worlds being reset and on worlds differing between Xbox and PC.
New content 2
- A new "Swap Triggers" control option can help with a possible issue on PlayStation controllers.
- A new "Balanced Mode" graphics setting runs at 40 FPS and 1440p on Series X and 900p on Series S.
Changes and balancing 2
- On the character screen, the right stick now only controls character rotation.
- The engine has been updated to Unity version 2020.3.41f1.
Fixes 7
- Manual saving no longer makes you respawn where you saved, and admin-list players can trigger a save on a dedicated server.
- The left-handed mouse option should work correctly again.
- Performance problems in the main menu are fixed.
- Some special characters that showed up as squares are fixed, and symbols should look more like they did before.
- Hovertext and text input on signs now display correctly and can use the \t and \n symbols.
- Text on signs is now lit correctly, without the lower glow.
- Various other UI and text elements that displayed incorrectly are fixed.
Known issues 2
- Some worlds are being reset when playing on Xbox, and the developers are investigating.
- Worlds could differ between Xbox and PC, which could break buildings. A fix exists, but it will change terrain in small areas of some Xbox worlds, and buildings there may break in the worst case. The areas must match PC for crossplay and future world generation.
Other 2
- If you hit world problems, the "Manage Saves" button in world selection can recover a world.
- If the latest patch leaves the game unplayable, you can run the last stable version by switching to the 'default_old' branch on Steam.
