Valheim 0.218.16

This public test build, not yet released to everyone, brings a round of Ashlands fixes. It adjusts the Trollstav, several building pieces and a few other items, and it makes the loading screen quicker and easier to use. Because it is a test branch, it may be unstable, and players should back up their saves before trying it.

Changes and balancing 6

  • The Trollstav can no longer be used in dungeons, and it now shows a warning message when you try to spawn too many trolls.
  • Bosses can now attack trolls that were spawned.
  • Smoke bombs can now be used to put out fire.
  • The stone portal can now be built on stone and black marble.
  • Magma fish are now interested in hot fishing bait.
  • The Immobilized tooltip no longer shows unnecessary stats.

Fixes 5

  • The shield generator no longer takes damage when it is built over lava.
  • Grausten arched roof pieces no longer show a gap between the tops of two roof pieces, and a performance issue related to grausten building pieces was fixed.
  • Fader's flame is no longer visible from a greater distance than his body.
  • The catapult no longer duplicates stacked items.
  • Localization received some tweaks.

Other 3

  • The loading screen now freezes the window for a much shorter time.
  • The intro now starts playing during loading, which shortens the overall loading time when starting the game for the first time.
  • You can now cycle through the hints on the loading screen.
