Valheim 0.221.12
Patch 0.221.12 adds a quicker way to pick emotes from the radial menu and puts gamepad crouching back to a single press. It also fixes a Vulkan startup crash on Windows, audio stutters in Ashlands, and several graphics settings problems. Vulkan can still make the game unstable or crash for now.
New content 1
- You can now keep holding the radial menu button or key after the menu opens and then let go to choose an emote.
Changes and balancing 1
- Crouching on gamepad is a single press again, undoing an unintended switch to press-and-hold.
Fixes 6
- Fixed a startup crash on Windows that happened under specific conditions when using Vulkan.
- Fixed audio stutters in Ashlands.
- Fixed annoying resolution setting behavior in windowed mode when changing settings.
- Fixed graphics settings sometimes not applying properly the first time after updating from an earlier version.
- Fixed some minor UX issues in the graphics settings menu.
- For modders: fixed a null reference exception that began in 0.221.10 when mods directly or indirectly accessed preferences at startup, for example through the localization system.
Known issues 2
- Playing with Vulkan might currently make Valheim unstable or cause crashes, and a solution is being worked on.
- Players who stay on Vulkan can disable the FPS limiters, for example in the Nvidia Control Panel, for a hopefully smoother experience.
